Today, after serving the citizens of Cecil County for 26 years as a telecommunications specialist, Captain Holly Trego officially retired from the Cecil County Department of Emergency Services.
Holly began her career at DES in 1995, and moved through the ranks of Dispatcher, Lieutenant, and Captain, as well as Quality Assurance Captain. Holly was also instrumental in public safety education and Safe-Kids program not only for Cecil County, but for Maryland as well. She has been an active member of the Singerly Fire Company since 1990 and currently serves as President of the Ladies Auxiliary. She is also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Maryland State Firemen's Association, where she serves as Chaplain. She was that voice on the radio for so many years. If you knew her as a first responder, when she was on the radio, she was that 'black cloud'.
For all the family occasions, birthdays, and holidays you missed, Holly, DES and the Citizens of Cecil County cannot thank you enough. We wish you nothing but the best on your future endeavors! Holly, we thank you for your service!
