Hurricane Isaias
Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter RSS

August 1, 2020

Over the last 24 hours, Isaias has shifted more to westward, and there is increasing confidence that Isaias will impact our area Monday night into Tuesday with gusty winds and heavy rain. The range of possibilities for MD is still broad, but confidence has increased for at least some impact from heavy rains (3-5” inches with higher amounts locally) and the potential for flash flooding and tropical storm force winds mainly over central and eastern MD.

Please keep in mind that this storm system is still far out, and any shift of the track east or west could have major impacts to the State. What this means for you is to begin preparations- making sure you have an emergency kit at home. Attached is a list of what you should include in that. One thing that people often forget is cash. If power is lost, so is the ability to use credit/debit cards. Now is the time to secure outdoor furniture, clean out gutters, test generators and fuel your vehicles. It’s always better to be prepared than not be! Make sure you Know Your Zone incase you need to evacuate!
