Are You Hurricane Ready?
September 17, 2019

Did you know that we are in the peak of hurricane season? Hurricanes are massive storm systems that form over warm ocean waters and move toward land. Potential threats from hurricanes include powerful winds, heavy rainfall, storm surges, coastal and inland flooding, rip currents, tornadoes, and landslides. All of that aside, the most dangerous threat is from water- inland flooding, heavy rains, and storm surge.

It's still very important to make sure your plans are up to date. Build an emergency preparedness kit. Know your evacuation routes. Have a communication plan so that your family and friends are able to contact you in case of an emergency, and include someone from out of the area that isn't impacted from the same event.
