Elkton, MD – August 25, 2011: The Cecil County Department of Emergency Services is closely monitoring Hurricane Irene as it travels along the Atlantic coast. The Department is working closely with the National Weather Service, Maryland Emergency Management Agency, and our local partners to respond as appropriate as the storm moves through the area. Residents and businesses are urged to begin preparing now as high wind, power outages, and flooding are highly likely to occur this weekend.
