Cecil County Emergency Medical Services
The Emergency Medical Services Division currently has three 24-hour/7 days a week Paramedic rapid response units, each staffed with two Advanced Life Support Providers. The county based EMS units respond to approximately 11,000 calls annually. The goal of the division is to supplement the volunteer system and to provide quality EMS care to the citizens and visitors of Cecil County. We support and maintain quality assurance initiatives as well as all Advanced Life Support initial certification and continuing education requirements for the jurisdiction.
Through a partnership with Cecil Community College the Nationally Registered EMT - Paramedic training program is offered to active county volunteer EMS providers at little to no cost.
We currently utilize two Dodge 2500 Diesel Quad Cab chassis and a Ford F250 Diesel Quad Cab both with SWAB Pioneer Series Bodies as our primary response units. The fourth unit, an Expedition, serves as a supervisory unit and is in operation 24 hours a day. The division also maintains a Rehabilitation Trailer capable of handling 50 patients and a 6-wheel John Deere Gator specially manufactured to carry a fully immobilized patient.
