National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is Saturday, October 28, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at which time Cecil County residents can turn in unused or expired medications — no questions asked — for safe disposal at several locations. Also, Cecil County residents can also dispose of medicine anytime at several medicine drop boxes, with no questions asked. Drop box locations are listed at, under the tab “RX Drop Boxes.”

Below are the locations that will be accepting your unused or expired medications:
-Cecil County Sheriff’s Office, 107 Chesapeake Blvd., Suite 112, Elkton;
-Elkton Police Department, 100 Railroad Ave., Elkton;
-Maryland State Police, North East Barrack, 2433 W. Pulaski Highway, North East;
-Maryland State Police, JFK Highway Barrack, 15 Turnpike Drive, Perryville;
-North East Police Department at Walgreen's Pharmacy, 2556 Pulaski Hwy., North East;
-Perryville Police Department at Cecil County Library, Perryville Branch, 500 Coudon Blvd., Perryville;
-Rising Sun Police Department, Rising Sun Town Hall, 1 E. Main St., Rising Sun; and
-Elkton High School, 10 James Street, Elkton (from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.) in conjunction with Restore Church’s annual Trunk-or-Treat event and a health fair.
