Cecil County Hazard Mitigation Plan

During the summer of 2003, the Cecil County Local Mitigation Planning Committee (LMPC)has studied the 2003 Hazard Vulnerability Analysis. An essential aspect of comprehensive disaster mitigation planning is a thorough understanding of potential hazards, vulnerabilities and risks. The purpose of the Cecil Count Hazard Vulnerability Analysis was to determine the extent to which natural and man-made hazards threaten Cecil County, the areas of the community that are at greatest risk, the size or significance or the threats, the kinds of facilities that occupy at-risk areas, and the effects hazards can have on at-risk critical facilities and potential losses.

With this analysis, the Local Mitigation Planning Committee has established projects to mitigate our potential losses from such hazards. While the committee is confident they have covered all bases, citizen input is vitally important to the success of this plan.
