During an emergency, officials will tell you what is happening using the Emergency Alert System (EAS), sirens, and/or loudspeakers, and door to door notification. if you hear a siren, turn into an EAS station. Additionally, up to date emergency information will be posted on this website.

The Cecil County Department of Emergency Services Dispatch Center is the primary answering point for Cecil County 9-1-1. From those calls the center Dispatches 9 volunteer fire & EMS companies, 1 career fire department, career paramedic units, Cecil County Sheriffs Office, Elkton Police Department, North East Police Department, Perryville Police Department, Port Deposit Police Department, Rising Sun Police Department, Department of Public Works, County Roads, and a host of county government agencies as they will or do have access to radios for interoperability purposes.

The agency employees 28 full-time dispatchers, working 12 hour shifts. The dispatchers are provided extensive training to be able to perform their jobs with state of the art radio and telephone equipment, maps and other computer programs.
